About Ijô seiyoku-ma
A husband who works as a janitor has a wife who is exhausted by his repeated demands for sex. Frustrated by her refusal he steals chloroform from work and drugs her to get what he wants. But he doesn’t stop there. He decides to try it on any woman he can find.
Directed by Seiji Izumi, Ijô seiyoku-ma leans on a strong ensemble — Kinichi Kusumi, Yuri Risa, Jun Todoki — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1977.
