About Who'll Stop the Rain
In the 1994 post-martial law period in Taiwan, the students were in the midst of protest. Chi-wei, a female college student, joins the strike to fight for their freedom of expression. During the protest, she slowly becomes attracted to Ching, the girlfriend of the leader of the student strike.
Directed by Su I-hsuan, Who'll Stop the Rain leans on a strong ensemble — Lee Ling-wei, Yeh Hsiao-fei, Roy Chang — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2023.
