About Leave in Summer
Nana runs an inn called Nakajima-so in a seaside town. One day, a young man named Fujii Shuntaro comes to visit and reveals that his girlfriend stayed at the inn one year prior, just before she died. Following in the footsteps of his lover, Nana takes on the role of guide and joins Shuntaro as he wanders the town.
Directed by Aya Igashi, Leave in Summer leans on a strong ensemble — Momoko Fukuchi, Amane Okayama, Tomoko Nozaki — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2022.
