On 29 July 1890 Vincent Van Gogh took his last breath. Despite the painter's silence about the circumstances, his death was put down to suicide throughout the 20th century. In 2011 following their investigation into Van Gogh's last hours American researchers Gregory White Smith and Steven Naifeh delivered a new version of the facts.
Directed by Jean-Luc Blanchet, I Killed Vincent leans on a strong ensemble — Cyril Caumont, Dominique Courait, Thibault Jousmet — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2018.
