About Hageshii Kisetsu
After being hit by Kyouko's car, office worker Hideo starts regularly meeting up Kyouko after the accident. With each meeting their feelings for each start to grow and they soon fall in love. The only problem is that Kyouko is married to and has a child with a yakuza boss who is currently in prison.
Directed by Takumi Kimizuka, Hageshii Kisetsu leans on a strong ensemble — Seiichi Tanabe, Kazuhiko Kanayama, Rina Takahashi — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1998.
