Bicycle Kick

Rubayet is a 19 year old loner from Kolkata who prefers solitude to the company of his classmates. Little do they know he's a pro at football until Motida, the football coach discovers his potential. Not only does Motida help Rubayet realize his potential but he also reaches out to him and even visits Rubayet's home town to learn about his roots. This he does to try to find out what caused Rubayet to be so withdrawn and reticent. What happens after Motida visits Rubayet's native place, does he manage to help Rubayet? How does this step change Motida's own life?

Directed by Sumit Das, Debasish Sen Sharma, Bicycle Kick leans on a strong ensemble — Ritwick Chakraborty, Sumit Samaddar, Ridhima Ghosh — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2013.
