About The Brave Die Standing
The first story: a teacher's daughter who is related to a group of revolutionaries, is arrested and tortured. He who is not willing to give his information to the agents of the security organization will be executed. The second story: A young revolutionary named Mehdi is arrested and tortured. He condemns the royal system in the court of order. The agents torture and execute him. The third incident: Ayatollah Taleghani who is in prison is being tortured. He resisted so much that he was released in the blind revolution, along with other political prisoners.
Directed by Abbas Kasayi, The Brave Die Standing leans on a strong ensemble — Javad Golpaygani, Siamak Atlasi, Shahrzad Armani — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1980.
