About Yaşamak Ne Güzel Şey
The film tells the story of a man who is abandoned by his wife and tries to win her forgiveness. The famous actor Şükrü's fondness for women causes his wife to leave him. Şükrü falls into a deep loneliness in his wife's absence. Over time, he begins to lose his fame. In a moment of despair, he meets his friend Rıfkı. Rıfkı offers to organize an Anatolian tour for Şükrü. They quickly assemble a team and set off on the tour. This tour will be an opportunity for Şükrü to win back his wife and his fame.
Directed by Halit Refiğ, Yaşamak Ne Güzel Şey leans on a strong ensemble — Öztürk Serengil, Selda Alkor, Engin Çağlar — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1969.
