Defense

Çiğdem, who is married to Cengiz, who is younger than her, is a wealthy businesswoman. Her troubled marriage, Cengiz's infidelity, and threatening phone calls and letters received at home have pushed her to the brink of despair. Cengiz, who refuses to accept Çiğdem's request for a divorce, leaves for Ankara on business, and that night, the young woman is murdered. Commissioner Cemal, who is investigating the murder, suspects Cengiz.

Directed by Osman F. Seden, Defense leans on a strong ensemble — Gülşen Bubikoğlu, Kenan Kalav, Fikret Hakan — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1986.
