The Toadman of Topanga

A group of teenagers, on the way to Prom, go drinking at an abandoned house in the woods where a famous rocker overdosed -- 27 club. The boys scare the girls with tales of the Toadman, a frightening creature who lurks in these very woods, by this old house, hungry for virgins. The boys then start wrecking the house -- which Skye -- the misfit of the group, finds to be very disrespectful. She feels a connection to the house and the rocker. The teens abandon her to the night, drunk, and alone, with the threat of the Toadman...

Directed by Ben Howley, The Toadman of Topanga leans on a strong ensemble — Carlo Morelli, Ethan Kutik, Jonah Bergman — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about horror titles of 2023.
