
Judy (Ann Christy), dresses as a boy in order to attend the ceremony where "Cudgie" (Sumner Getchell) is being inducted into a fraternity at the college. The sign over the door at the fraternity has been moved, to fool her, to a building where, unknown to the frat boys, a notorious criminal is hiding.
Directed by Ray Taylor, Schoolmates leans on a strong ensemble — Ann Christy, Sumner Getchell, Joan McCoy — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1930.
