Cry of the Drummer

With no success in the music industry and facing middle age, Philadelphia rock n' roll drummer Johnny Covini ends up in rehab after he is arrested while buying cocaine from the neighborhood drug dealer. While in rehab, he finds a power far beyond that of any rehab program, he falls in love with Rosanna Angellini - a girl from the neighborhood who visits him frequently. In the midst of it all, Johnny begins rehearsals with a group of old musician buddies, laying the foundation for one of the best rock bands of their time.

Directed by Jonathan Cross, Cry of the Drummer leans on a strong ensemble — Jonathan Cross, Regina Madden, Angelo Fierro — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2007.
