Swan is an old man from the country. He comes alone to the city to get medical treatment. But the city is not welcoming. Nobody wants to have anything to do with him. Then he discovers that it might have to do with his clothes - if he just had clothes like those gentlemen he sees in the streets.
Directed by Lárus Ýmir Óskarsson, Swan leans on a strong ensemble — Árni Tryggvason, Gunnar Eyjólfsson, Jóhann Sigurðarsson — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about tv movie titles of 1993.
