Thunders

In a poor village near the Transnistrian border, after the war of 1992, there is a mined field, still active. Zinca and Victor, two Moldavian children suddenly lose the cows on the mined territory and try to get them back.

Directed by Ioane Bobeica, Thunders leans on a strong ensemble — Anatol Mîrzenco, Tincuţa Josan, Nicolae Cernomaz — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2023.
