About Dracula in Istanbul
Azmi has taken on the role of lawyer for a count named Dracula living in Romania. Dracula is a vampire descended from Vlad the Impaler and wants to buy many houses in Istanbul through Azmi. When Azmi learned that Dracula was actually a vampire, the count had already set off for Istanbul.
Directed by Mehmet Muhtar, Dracula in Istanbul leans on a strong ensemble — Atıf Kaptan, Annie Ball, Cahit Irgat — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about fantasy titles of 1953.
