About Copacabana Zero Hora
Four boys, Eduardo, Rui, Júlio and Carlos meet in bars to plot scams and tricks. Among them is Teresa, with whom Rui is in love, even knowing about her pregnancy. The boy does everything to know who the child's father is, but uselessly. Eduardo is a day employee and a car thief at night. Júlio and Carlos use marijuana and do not hesitate to use violent methods in their designs. One night they follow Edna (student and bride) to her house.
Directed by Duilio Mastroianni, Copacabana Zero Hora leans on a strong ensemble — Ricardo Luna, Elaine Carvel, Fernando Gallotti — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about crime titles of 1961.
