Takarazuka Snow Troupe 2019 performance, based on a novel of the same name ("Mibu Gishi Den") by Asada Jirō. It is a time of turmoil in the last days of Tokugawa shogunate... Yoshimura Kanichiro, a low-class warrior born the son of a foot soldier in the service of the Nambu clan, the lords of Morioka Domain in northern Japan, is a master of both the martial and scholarly ways.
Directed by Ishida Masaya, Mibu Gishi Den leans on a strong ensemble — Fuuto Nozomi, Maaya Kiho, Sakina Ayakaze — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2019.
