About Sotohi Foq Al-Shagra
Satohi works in the circus owned by his uncle Lamei and his wife Sonia. Sonia opposes their daughter Zoba's marriage to Satohi despite her love for him. The wealthy Ahmed works as a singer in the circus. He agrees with Satohi to give him an apartment in the building he owns in exchange for him bearing the responsibility for the crime he committed with his car.
Directed by Nasser Hussien, Sotohi Foq Al-Shagra leans on a strong ensemble — Younes Shalaby, Lebleba, Ahmed Adaweya — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1983.
