About Dhiaab ealaa altariq
Salem, an assistant director, believes that the famous actress Nagwa loves him. So he steals a large sum of money from the studio where he works to spend on her, and confesses his love and his crime to her. He hears her tell the producer about his crime, so he runs away and travels to Alexandria to hide with his friends, who covet the money. A fight breaks out between them and Salem, in which one of them dies, and events unfold.
Directed by Kamal Salah ElDein, Dhiaab ealaa altariq leans on a strong ensemble — Mariam Fakhr Eddine, Salah Qabil, Omar Khorsheid — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1972.
