Die Musterknaben

Docker and Dretzke are two police officers from Cologne. But the cases here in the precinct don't win them a flower pot at the CID. And so they find themselves at the bottom of the career ladder. When they are assigned by the Düsseldorf State Office of Criminal Investigation to work the night shift on an apartment where drugs are presumably being dealt during the day, they discover more than their Düsseldorf colleagues had planned...

Directed by Ralf Huettner, Die Musterknaben leans on a strong ensemble — Jürgen Tarrach, Oliver Korittke, Ellen ten Damme — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1997.
