
Milah, a satay seller, while Kadir owns an electrical repair shop. They secretly love each other. However, things changed with the appearance of Fikri, a wealthy resort owner. Fikri tries to seduce Milah, but Milah's feelings for Kadir are still strong. On the other hand, Kadir seemed hopeless. Fikri later offered Milah a bid to sell the satay at his resort. Slowly Kadir resigned and left his business. Milah is sad and realizes she loves Kadir. When Kadir returns home, he and Milah decide to get married while Fikri has to leave.
Directed by Z. Lokman, Sate leans on a strong ensemble — Rosli Rahman Adam, Zila Bakarin, Kak Gee — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 1997.
