About The innocent and the executioner
Businessman Hamdi decides to take revenge on Abdel Hamid, Mustafa and Badr for their testimony against his brother Saeed, who is proven guilty of murder and theft and is executed. Hamdi suspects them because of their sudden wealth, and takes advantage of their lack of knowledge of him as he was abroad, and takes revenge on each of them with a number of plans.
Directed by Mohamed Marzooq, The innocent and the executioner leans on a strong ensemble — Ezzat Al Alaily, Aaidah Riyadh, Emad Moharam — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1991.
