I.M. Pei: Building China Modern

Entering the twilight of his career, Pei returns to his ancestral home of Suzhou, China to work on his most personal project do date. He is commissioned to build a modern museum in the city's oldest neighborhood which is populated by classical structures from the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Directed by Anne Makepeace, I.M. Pei: Building China Modern leans on a strong ensemble — I.M. Pei — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about documentary titles of 2010.
