About Urban Spirit Legend: Yuko
Ten years ago, a young girl was found dead in the school pool as a result of a bullying incident, and a teacher also attempted suicide in agony. The school is now closed, but ten alumni, led by Nojima (Baba Ryoma), gather together after hearing that strange phenomena occur nightly in the pool where the incident took place. However, a number of bizarre phenomena begin to occur.
Directed by Yûichi Onuma, Urban Spirit Legend: Yuko leans on a strong ensemble — Ryoma Baba, Shizuka Nakamura, Saya Hikita — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about horror titles of 2011.
