On June 3, 1968, student protests began in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the first major conflict with the then communist establishment. In Belgrade, Sarajevo, Zagreb and Ljubljana, students demanded more socialism, the fight against corruption and a better state.
Directed by Marko Subotić, Almir Šećkanović, Ideal 68 leans on a strong ensemble — Dragan Sjekloća, Sonja Liht, Dragoljub Mićunović — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about documentary titles of 2018.
