"Country Bumpkin" Jeff Rodgers is walking along a country road when The Chief picks him up in a little red convertible. Jeff is told he has been "under observation" and invited to accompany The Chief. He is shown various sexual fantasies and after each one The Chief seduces Jeff a little further until they take part in the last fantasy in the hot tub.
Directed by Ed Franklin, Palace of Pleasures leans on a strong ensemble — Shawn Victors, Jon Conrad, J.W. King — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about fantasy titles of 1981.
