About Sounds of Summer
A story about how the legendary Swedish band Gyllene Tider became one of Sweden's biggest pop sensations. Per is the ambitious outsider at school, who discovers friends for life through the power of music as he finds MP, Micke, Anders and Göran. Despite hardships, the band goes on to break through in the early 80s, where their hit songs about life in a small town made them a nationwide sensation.
Directed by Per Simonsson, Sounds of Summer leans on a strong ensemble — Waldemar Wahlbeck, Lance Hedman Graaf, Phoenix Parnevik — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2024.
