About Confinement Escape: At the End of Abnormal Libido
Yumi is a woman who works as a prostitute in order to enter medical school. A yakuza rescues her from a customer who dies on his stomach, and they fall in love. The yakuza goes to jail, and five years later, when the yakuza is released, he tells her he is quitting the gang and lives with her. One day, the woman is kidnapped by someone, locked up in the basement of an abandoned building, and raped.
Directed by Futoshi Jinno, Confinement Escape: At the End of Abnormal Libido leans on a strong ensemble — Shôko Nakahara, Hitoshi Ozawa, Kazuyoshi Ozawa — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about thriller titles of 1995.
