The Korean Intelligence Agency receives information that a huge amount of gold is being smuggled by North Korean spies, who has a secret organization in Hong Kong. To prevent this, Korea dispatches a secret agent to Hong Kong, who destroys their plan in advance and rounds up the mob.
Directed by Jeong Chang-hwa, Special Agent X-7 leans on a strong ensemble — Namkoong Won, Kim Hye-jeong, Heo Chang-kang — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about action titles of 1966.
