About Manja
A story about a 19-year-old girl Manja who, after her parents' divorce, moved with her mother from Zrenjanin to Novi Sad. Manja is in conflict with everyone, from her sister and mother to the new town where she has acquired a single friend, Slonče. He has a band and is hopelessly in love with Manja which she doesn't notice. She did not enroll in college, so she is looking for a job, after being fired from a beauty salon. After finding a new job in the delivery service, Manja also meets Daniel, who is 15 years her senior.
Directed by Nikola Končarević, Manja leans on a strong ensemble — Nevena Nerandžić, Miloš Vojnović, Tanja Pjevac — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2023.
