The sons see their father for the last time. In a couple of years, a funeral and the Order of the Red Star will come to a small village. There are genuine tears in the eyes of the audience. After the war, the brothers Madi and Sagi leave to study in a big city. Life is going happily: the elder marries a young ballerina, becomes a famous journalist. But one day he goes to betrayal. The connection between the brothers is cut off forever. And only in his declining years, Madi goes in search of relatives.
Directed by Amanzhol Aituarov, Return leans on a strong ensemble — Yerzhan Zharylkasynuly, Sanzhar Madi, Asylbek Kapayev — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
