Kurban

Kurban tells the story of a Muslim family in Bengal. The story will tell a humane tale in a rural backdrop. In the film, Hasan has his abba, ammi, ammi's adopted sister, her son Hasu, and Hijal. Hasan loves them immensely. Hasan is a sensitive person who looks at life differently than others, which throws him grave challenges. A storm comes to Hasan's happy family and his values are questioned. The story deals with what he does then.

Directed by Saibal Mukherjee, Kurban leans on a strong ensemble — Ankush Hazra, Priyanka Sarkar, Shantilal Mukherjee — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2023.
