Tata Fell asleep, Tata woke up

Tata (Sherif Negm) works as a bartender in a nightclub, and since he lives in dreams and not in reality, he is fired from work. He goes to work for his cousin Maghawri (Shaaban Abdel Rahim), a wedding singer and cinema extras, to help him get a job and discovers that he has a supernatural ability.

Directed by Kariem Diaa Aldeen, Tata Fell asleep, Tata woke up leans on a strong ensemble — Sherif Najm, Amr Abdel Gelil, Inas El Naggar — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about comedy titles of 2007.
