As a result of killing a group of robbers as a form of self-defense, Ridho was thrown into prison. While he was a prisoner, Ridho experienced unfair treatment and was abused by his cellmates. When he came out of prison after 12 years, Ridho had difficulty finding work. Only a grocery store owner named Siti gave him a job. Then, Ridho remembered the letter he received six years ago in prison regarding his mother's death. Ridho searches for information, until all the clues point to Siti's child, Annisa, whom he loves.

Directed by Prisia Nasution, 12 Hari leans on a strong ensemble — Yoga Pratama, Hana Malasan, Asri Welas — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2022.
