Wrecks

Like every year, Mathys accompanies his mother to the local stock car races. With his friend Titouan, he spots a driver who seems familiar, perhaps his father who abandoned him when he was little. Intrigued, Mathys doesn't take his eyes off him and follows him. To get noticed, the young man will take all the risks during a wild race.

Directed by Mehdi Ouahab, Wrecks leans on a strong ensemble — Gilda Barthe, François Créton, Nathalie Bécue — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
