1940. Four young girls, persecuted from the special laws, find shelter in a scholastic institute run by a nun. The parents of the girls rely on a Nazi regime, thus giving them hope to save their daughters. Without knowing that behind that beautiful nun persona that a perverse and malicious women lies beneath. For the young girls the institute does not provide salvation, but a violation of their young bodies and minds.
Directed by Silvio Bandinelli, La Punizione leans on a strong ensemble — Nikki Anderson, Blondie, Laura Black — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 1998.
