










An 11-year-old boy who goes to Africa with his father in 1941. Because he is Japanese, the father is detained by the British. The boy joins up with a beautiful native girl, and the adventure begins.
Directed by Nobuhiko Obayashi, Kenya Boy leans on a strong ensemble — Tomoyo Harada, Eiko Masuyama, Ichiro Nagai — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about animation titles of 1984.
