About Shafah Ghaliza
The film revolves around Magda, who lives under extremely difficult social conditions and tries in vain to obtain an honest source of livelihood. She ends up pickpocketing on public transportation, and from there she picks up the lawyer Alaa with his knowledge. He searches for her everywhere out of his extreme love for her and his sympathy for her condition and case, with the help of his brother who works in the prosecution service.
Directed by Sherif Yehia, Shafah Ghaliza leans on a strong ensemble — Sohier Ramzy, Farouq Al Fishawy, Magdy Wahba — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1992.
