About Con el deseo en los dedos
A sculptress marries out of interest in order to have the money that will allow her to give the education she desires to the young boy she has chosen to, in a certain sense, mold to her liking and thus give him her love when he becomes a man. She succeeds in part, but then the boy is reconciled with the young woman who truly loves him the sculptress ends up dying in the embrace of the sculpture that reproduced him.
Directed by Mario Barral, Con el deseo en los dedos leans on a strong ensemble — Jorge Félix, Enrique Santisteban, Minín Bujones — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1958.
