About Outcast
On the wedding day of Taraneh and Saeed, Parviz, a former friend of Taraneh, calls her and demands twenty thousand tomans in return for her souvenir photos and letters. Taraneh asks Atefeh, the wife of his brother Iraj (Manochehar Vathouq), to deliver the money to Parviz in the north. Atefeh calls Parviz, and Parviz tricks Atefeh to the beach and takes a number of photos with Atefeh by his friend and then extorts her in exchange for the photos.
Directed by Fereydoun Jourak, Outcast leans on a strong ensemble — Manoochehr Vossoogh, Marjan, Morteza Aghili — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about romance titles of 1975.
