Based on the Chinese, Qing Dynasty legend of the Jiangshi, which first appeared in print in 1789 by writer Ji Xiaolan, this film tells the tale of a dead man who returns from the grave to avenge his brother's betrayal.
Directed by Yeung Kung-Leung, Midnight Vampire leans on a strong ensemble — Yeung Yet-Ing, Wu Tip-Ying, Chao Fei-Fei — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
