Once again Mario Salieri surprises with his unique vision of the pornographic genre, facing a ruthless analysis of the society in which we live through the background of the ancient art of comedy. The story is told by the same characters, each a mirror of human pettiness, positioned on the empty stage of a theater. After a peaceful start to the story, which revolves around the organization of a variety show, each character will discover his real identity by showing the drift of values and feelings in a context of ruthless self-sufficiency. A three-part series to see without using the quick scrolling function (like all Salieri's films) to get involved in the narrative and eroticism and appreciate the fantastic musical interventions of the orchestra conductor Antonello Cascone, musician by Andrea Bocelli and many other international stars.
Directed by Mario Salieri, Burlesque Show leans on a strong ensemble — Josephine Jackson, Cristina Miller, Anica Russouw — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about romance titles of 2020.
