About Operation Nabat
The film is based on the events of 1992 that took place in Southern Kazakhstan, when prisoners who escaped during the transfer to Russia took a regular bus with passengers hostage. The best forces of Kazakhstan's national security and law enforcement were dispatched to rescue them.
Directed by Rashid Suleimenov, Operation Nabat leans on a strong ensemble — Bakhyt Khadzhibaev, Aleksey Shemes, Aygerim Zhunusova — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2024.
