About For a Rainy Day
A student filmmaker finds out her mother has been having recurrent dreams of her imminent death. Believing she is soon to die, the mother decides to both accomplish her outstanding religious duties and fulfill her children's wishes. She knows that her daughter's foremost ambition is to complete a feature film, and so hires a superstar. Eventually, while waiting for death to take her, the mother is confronted by an unexpected event.
Directed by Faeze Azizkhani, For a Rainy Day leans on a strong ensemble — Hedie Tehrani, Farzaneh Gerayli, Shirin Aghakashi — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2015.
