Khurshid tries to marry Bahigha, the daughter Arfy Pasha, who rejects the idea of their marriage for the difference in their social status. Khurshid is able to cause the Pasha to fall into a financial crisis which leads him to have a severe heart attack.

Directed by Kamal Abul Ela, Hussein Fawzi, Zohrah leans on a strong ensemble — Bahiga Hafez, Kamal Hussein, Thuraya Fakhry — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.

The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 1947.
