Misa's father, the Minowa clan leader, was killed by assassins from the rival organisation Shinsui Rengo. She decides to live her life as a yakuza and together with her boyfriend Ryuji, she is building up the gang. However, the betrayal of the acting chairman, Izawa, who was a close associate of her father, is discovered. A takeover in collusion with the Shinsui Union is taking place behind the scenes.
Directed by Ken'ichi Fujiwara, Yakuza's Lady 5 leans on a strong ensemble — Akiho Yoshizawa, Yuya Ishikawa, Noriko Fujioka — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about screen titles of 2015.
