About The Time of a Flower
The story is adapted from a short story by Shi Shuqing, which takes place in a small village called Shujiachuan in Northwest China during the blooming season of alfalfa flowers. Li Han, a beekeeper from another province, sets up camp here to raise bees and collect honey, and develops a subtle, weak yet strong emotional entanglement with Mai Mai, a local girl who often shovels grass nearby. Li Han has his own hidden agenda, and Mai Mai is also engaged. In addition, the little boy Su Su shuttles back and forth, causing waves and making it unclear where the relationship will go
Directed by Miaomiao Liu, The Time of a Flower leans on a strong ensemble — Moxi Zishi, Ke Rong — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about drama titles of 2024.
