About An Arrow Through the Heart
During the Ming Dynasty's Jiajing period, Deputy General Yang Zhen's family is killed by the pirate Chi Hu, but his son Yang Hai escapes. Yang Hai, mastering archery skills from Yan Xiaoping, a descendant of the famed archer Yan Shiba, rescues captured villagers and seeks revenge against the pirates.
Directed by Guo Yubo, An Arrow Through the Heart leans on a strong ensemble — Lu Hao, Zhao Jinxia, Lu Shun — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about action titles of 2024.
