Bizarrofilia aims to investigate the origin and meaning of the word “bizarre”, how the passage of time implies reinterpretations of some works, and focuses on the contemporary production of films that aim to distance themselves from any mimetic representation of reality… although in a country like ours reality always surpasses fiction.
Directed by Ayi Turzi, Bizarrofilia leans on a strong ensemble — Darío Lavia, Tetsuo Lumière, Daniela Giménez — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about documentary titles of 2024.
