About Hassan & Hassan
Hassan is a taxi driver, and his cousin is also called Hassan, but he is a con man. Hassan the con man marries his cousin, the sister of Hassan the driver. He finds this an opportunity to blackmail his cousin, so he urges him to invest his money in a fake company. They travel to Alexandria and meet the beautiful Houria and the two fall in love with her.
Directed by Niazi Mostafa, Hassan & Hassan leans on a strong ensemble — Mohamed El Kahlawy, Horeya Mohamed, Bishara Wakim — to carry a story that balances spectacle with character.
The film landed with audiences for its craft and performances, and remains one of the most talked-about romance titles of 1945.
